George Gilbert Loesel was born in Erie, Pennsylvania on May 17, 1939. He is the son of George O. and Mary Anstead Loesel.

“Gib” (as he is known) married Suzanne Louise Sheldon on June 14, 1963 in Erie. Gib and “Suzy” have two children: Michael Edward and Matthew Charles Loesel.

Gib has had a very active life, after high school he entered the U.S. Navy and was trained as a Dental Technician. After his navy career he joined brother Richard and father George in the family insurance business and attended various schools of insurance and became a Certified Insurance Councilor. An active mason and member of the Zem Zem Pipes and Drums he has been playing bag pipes for 40 years.

Gib has served as president of several organizations and was Commodore of the Erie Yacht Club in 1988. In 1995 he retired from the Loesel-Schaaf Insurance Agency where he served as president. Since retirement he has been enjoying his hobbies, sailing, traveling, woodworking and “messing around with his computer”. Retirement has also allowed him to enjoy his many grandchildren. In the summer he and Suzy love Erie, the winter months find them in North Fort Myers, Florida. While in
Florida Gib is very active in the Radio Contolled Model Sailing Racing world.
